-
- : BTW, anyone who claims that adding hardware to a PC is easy is obviously

- : Most PC people you talk to have had at least one nightmare installing

-
- : I am not being facile here, It is just a fact of life that while one may

-
- I've got an example for you.. A friend of mine has a Gateway-2000 486 DX4/100
- w 8Mb Ram, and a Maestro 28.8k modem.
-
- He starts up the comms package on Windows95 and tries to use the modem;
- nothing happens. He tried changing from PULSE to TONE, again nothing happens,
- no dialing, nothing.
-
- I plug in my Banksia 14.4k MyModem, and it works! So we swap modems and I get
- a 28.8k modem, and he gets stuck with a 14.4k.
-
- So much for advanced PC hardware and Plug and Play; my ancient Amiga 500 and
- my A4000 recognize both modems, and they work flawlessly.
-
- Gee, cant wait to get my PC..
