  34. I've got an example for you.. A friend of mine has a Gateway-2000 486 DX4/100
  35. w 8Mb Ram, and a Maestro 28.8k modem.

  37. He starts up the comms package on Windows95 and tries to use the modem;
  38. nothing happens. He tried changing from PULSE to TONE, again nothing happens,
  39. no dialing, nothing.

  41. I plug in my Banksia 14.4k MyModem, and it works! So we swap modems and I get
  42. a 28.8k modem, and he gets stuck with a 14.4k.

  44. So much for advanced PC hardware and Plug and Play; my ancient Amiga 500 and
  45. my A4000 recognize both modems, and they work flawlessly.
